From decorating to shopping to spending time with family, there are many ways to celebrate the holiday season – especially when you live just moments away from the Historic Marietta Square. For example, this Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014, residents of our Montgomery Park community – situated within walking distance of the Square – will have the opportunity to attend the lighting of the Marietta Square Christmas Tree.
This annual tradition is the perfect way to kick-off the holidays with Santa and Mrs. Claus, as well as your friends, family and neighbors. Beginning at 5 p.m., the lighting of the Christmas tree will be held in Glover Park with Santa turning on the lights at 6 p.m. Throughout the evening, local school choruses will perform Christmas carols, while children are able to visit with Santa in the gazebo until 8 p.m.

In addition to the Christmas tree lighting on Dec. 4, Santa will be in the square to visit with children every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. For individuals looking to shop local, stores on the Square will be open until 9 p.m. on Fridays from now through Dec. 19 for some Candlelight Shopping.
