Traton Homes was honored to be recognized during the Cobb County Board of Commissioners meeting on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 with a proclamation in recognition of their 50-year anniversary.
Commission Chairwoman Lisa Cupid delivered the proclamation and presented Traton representatives with a framed certificate that read as follows:
PROCLAMATION Whereas Founded in 1971 by brothers Bill and Milburn Poston, Traton Homes is one of metro Atlanta’s oldest home building companies. This family-owned business, headquartered in Marietta, is celebrating 50 years of building outstanding quality and value into every home; and Whereas the company has deep roots in Cobb and has been an integral part of our community during the past five decades. Chris and Clif Poston, sons of co-founder Bill and nephews of co-founder Milburn, currently manage the business; and Whereas Traton Homes has been honored with numerous civic and industry awards, including more than 50 OBIE Awards for home building excellence from the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association. It has also been named Best Builder in Cobb County by Cobb Life magazine and earned the Guildmaster Award for customer service excellence seven times; and Whereas to honor this milestone 50th anniversary, Traton Homes is making a donation to HomeAid Atlanta for every new home closed in 2021. The nonprofit’s mission is to help families and individuals experiencing homelessness create new lives; now Therefore we, the Cobb County Board of Commissioners, do hereby honor Traton Homes, its employees and the Poston family for 50 years of excellence in the home building industry.
The proclamation was presented by Commission Chairwoman Lisa Cupid and was signed by District 1 Commissioner Keli Gambrill, District 2 Commissioner Jerica Richardson, District 3 Commissioner JoAnn K. Burrell and District 4 Commissioner Monique Sheffield.
Traton associates in attendance were Bill Poston, co-founder of Traton Homes; Chris Poston, Chief Operating Officer; Amy Kessler, Vice President of Sales and Marketing; and Kimberly Garwood, Director of Marketing.
