Today, members of the Traton Homes team came together to give back to the community by joining together to stuff a Cobb Community Transit bus with toys and gifts for Cobb Christmas. Cobb Christmas is an organization that provides new toys and food to needy families during the Christmas season. Traton Homes has been a part of this project since 2004.
“As a Cobb County home builder with offices in Marietta, we feel that Cobb Christmas is a great way to give back to the community we live in and love,” said Kimberly Garwood, Marketing Manager at Traton Homes. “The outpouring of generosity from our employees and vendors has been remarkable and we plan to continue this effort in the coming years to help even more families in need.”
Cobb Christmas brightens the holiday season for families in several ways including:
- Providing a box of food to each qualifying family, allowing them the opportunity to prepare a holiday meal in their Cobb County home
- Providing gifts for children ages infant through eighteen
- In addition to the gifts, providing stockings to each child with age appropriate items and a minimum of three toys
This non-profit organization is run 100 percent by volunteers. Distribution is held at Jim, Miller Park and managed by the Cobb Christmas Board of Directors with the help of hundreds of volunteers who sort food, stuff stockings, select toys and pack gifts.
