Oct. 11, 2013 is a very special day at Traton Homes. It marks the 95th birthday of Nellie Clifford Poston, the mother of our co-founders, Bill and Milburn Poston and their sister, Marian. In celebration of this special birthday, employees of Traton Homes gathered together for a birthday luncheon on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013 complete with delicious sandwiches, sides and a beautifully decorated cake from her favorite Marietta restaurants
Mrs. Poston’s strength, determination and business smarts set an example for her sons to follow. When her children were young, she and her husband Red formed Poston Realty & Insurance (later known as Poston, Guthrie and Fowler). When Red passed away following a heart attack in 1963, she continued to run the company and raise their children until she later sold the business.
Following the sale of Poston Realty & Insurance, Bill and Milburn decided to continue the family business tradition and formed Traton Homes in 1971. Mrs. Poston was an integral part of Traton Homes’ success over the years and she has worked every day to ensure that Traton Homes remains one of the top home builders in Atlanta. While most people would have retired long before their 95th birthday, she continues to come into the office every day and keeps the books for the family business. Her dedication and loyalty is an inspiration to the entire team at Traton Homes.
In honor of Mrs. Poston and her commitment to the Atlanta real estate industry, Traton Homes will soon announce the launch of Nellie Poston Custom Homes. Led by Ralph Reilly, Nellie Poston Custom Homes will offer Atlanta home buyers the opportunity to build their dream home on the home site of their choice. Prices for these luxury custom homes will begin in the high-$800,000s.
Happy birthday Mrs. Poston and thank you for being an inspiration to us all!
