This weekend, Smyrna will celebrate the arrival of spring with its annual Jonquil Festival. True, the weekends have felt more like August than April lately, but the flowers are in bloom and plenty of vendors will have icy treats to help you cool off.
Start the morning bright and early with a 5K run. Timed runners and untimed walkers are welcome, but if you are a first place winner in your group you get to take home a delicious key lime pie. If you’re interested in the 5k, it is easy to sign up online. This race can count as a Peachtree Road Race qualifier.
Following the 5K, Smyrna comes alive for the rest of the weekend with arts and crafts vendors, puppet shows, live music, delectable festival food and a wide variety of activities for the kids. There is also local entertainment on the stage in front of the library.
