With the fall season in full swing, Marietta has special events currently happening including the Ghosts of Marietta haunted walking tours. Although these tours are held year-round, the fall weather makes them even spookier.
For those who spook easily, there are also many other fall activities that don’t involve ghosts. The HarvestFest is the big fall event this year in Marietta! This event takes place on Oct. 16 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and it features the popular Scarecrows in the Square competition this year, as well as many other fall activities for you and the grandkids to enjoy!
The Marietta Square Farmers Market also continues through the end of the year and takes place every Saturday morning starting at 9 a.m.
Downtown Kennesaw
Downtown Kennesaw has special autumn events happening throughout October and November! The 2021 Kennesaw Beer & Wine Festival makes its return on Oct. 30 from 1 to 5 p.m. Located at Depot Park, this exciting festival includes live music and a wide variety of drinks, including over 100 beers from local and national breweries, ciders, spirits and more than 25 wines.
The following Saturday, Nov. 6, hosts the popular Taste of Kennesaw event. This event starts at 11 a.m. and continues to 6 p.m. Visitors can try food from more than 40 local restaurants, and you can also enjoy live music on two entertainment stages all day. Admission is free and food samples range from $1 to $4 each.
Kennesaw Mountain
During the fall season, Kennesaw Mountain is at its peak in beauty. With the changing color of the leaves and the cool breeze, autumn is the perfect time to hike to the top. Kennesaw Mountain offers views of Marietta, the Atlanta skyline and even Stone Mountain. Not only is the park a great place for admiring the fall season, but it is also a great place for running or hiking more than 18 miles of interpretive trails. It is also dog-friendly, and you can enjoy a picnic in the designated areas. On weekends, the park offers shuttles to skip the hike and arrive near the top, or on weekdays, visitors can drive their own car up the mountaintop.
