Traton Homes Marketing Manager Kimberly Garwood was named Marketing Director of the Year during the 31st Annual OBIE Awards Ceremony held Nov. 12 at the Cobb Galleria.
Traton Founder Bill Poston states, “Kimberly brings a special passion to every aspect of her work at Traton. With limited dollars she has been able to make smart decisions that consistently reinforce Traton’s key messages of strength, quality and value. She has accomplished this through effective advertising, social media, public relations and internal communications.”
Kimberly’s key accomplishments during 2010 included taking Traton Homes to the next level including launching our social media marketing program. The centerpiece of the program is this blog. Other components include Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and LinkedIn accounts. She was also key in opening nine new communities in 2010, often on tight deadlines.
With an unique ability to see the “big picture” while managing the daily details, Kimberly focuses on flawless execution. Her experience and wisdom is often sought by her peers. Kimberly always has a willingness to share for the betterment not only of Traton Homes, but for the industry as a whole.
She has a winning attitude and a consistently positive outlook that makes her not only talented, but a joy to work with. She has been the recipient of Traton’s Dunning Award, an annual award presented to the person who most displays a consistently positive attitude while making a difference in the company’s success.

The Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association’s OBIE Awards celebrates its 31th anniversary in 2011. The awards began in 1980 and have grown throughout the years to now feature more than 100 building, remodeling, marketing and personal achievement categories.
