Happy Halloween from Traton Homes! Tonight is the night that so many children have been waiting for! They get to dress up as their chosen character, spend time with friends and receive lots and lots of candy! Meanwhile your goal as the parent is to create a great night of trick-or-treat fun while keeping safety top-of-mind. Here are some safety tips for having a scare-rrific good Halloween near your Atlanta luxury home:
Increase Visibility: It is getting darker earlier, so make sure that your child carries or wears something that lights up such as a flashlight, glow bracelet/necklace or light-up shoes. Even if it is light out when you start, it is likely to get dark before you finish.
Cross at Corners: Make sure that your children know to only cross the street at corners and to never run out into the road. Drivers will be more aware that tonight is Halloween, but taking extra safety measures is always a plus.
Contact Information: Pin your contact information on each child’s costume before you go out for the night, especially if you have a large group. With all the excitement, a child could lag behind or race ahead separating themselves from the group.
Plan, Plan, Plan: Make a plan before you take off for the evening. Your plan needs to include which houses you are going to stop at and in what order.
No Candy until Inspected: Before you leave for the night, make sure that your children know not to eat any candy until they get home and you can inspect it. Even though you likely know your neighbors, it’s still a good rule of thumb.
At Traton Homes we build kid-friendly neighborhoods, many of which have sidewalks that provide a safer route between houses. We hope you and your family have a Happy Halloween!
