September is here and it is officially the month of fall. This fabulous season means football is back on the weekends, temperatures are starting to drop, trees are changing colors and there are fun and festive events happening all around the metro Atlanta area. Through September and October, many of our Traton Homes communities are near fun fall festivals!
Here are just a few of the many fall festivals and opportunities our residents can take advantage of this season:
Join your neighbors in Kennesaw for the fifth annual Owl-O-Ween Hot Air Balloon Festival on Friday, October 18 and Saturday, October 19 from 6 to 11 p.m. Atlanta’s largest hot air balloon festival and costume party, the event takes place at Kennesaw State’s Sports and Entertainment Park.
Just some of the fun that takes place during this two-day festival include live entertainment, hot air balloon glows, trick-or-treating, tethered balloon rides, food trucks, an interactive kids zone, and so much more. If you call our Village of Fuller’s Chase community in downtown Kennesaw home, then you’re just a quick drive from this incredible event!
The city of Marietta will host its annual HarvestFest arts and crafts festival on Saturday, October 19 in Glover Park at Historic Marietta Square!

From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., attendees can enjoy arts and crafts vendors, Touch-A-Truck, Scarecrows on the Square, a costume contest and the Halloween Happenings kid’s festival. There will be plenty of seasonal games, candy, inflatables, and even a DJ keeping you entertained as you meander around the square and view each and every scarecrow! The best part about this event? It’s walkable or just a few minutes’ drive from a number of our communities, including 1825 Stilesboro, Parkside East and The Registry at Marietta Square!
This two-day event is taking place on Saturday, October 26 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, October 27 from noon to 5:00 p.m. Held on the beautiful Village Green in downtown Smyrna next to Market Village, this annual event will be home to over 125 hand-made arts and crafts booths, puppet shows, live music, food and activities for the whole family. There will even be a costume contest on Saturday morning for kids to show off their most creative and spooky Halloween costumes. Located at 200 Village Green Circle in Smyrna, this fall festival event is within walking distance of The Grove at Adams Pond and only a short drive from Woodland Parc!
