Summer is here and hot, but luckily there’s a variety of places to cool off near each of our Traton communities! Wherever your Traton home is located, there’s fun activities for everyone when it comes to beating the summer heat, from whitewater rafting to relaxing at the beach.
Cool Off in Nature
If you want to explore the natural beauty of Georgia’s waterways, the NOC Chattahoochee Outpost offers guided river trips and rentals for rafting, tubing, kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding on the Chattahoochee River. This is only a 5-minute drive from High Parc at Smyrna, our new townhome community opening later this summer!
A little farther northwest within minutes of our 55+ community Courtyards at Camden, you’ll find Lake Allatoona, a serene and peaceful lake offering 270 miles of shoreline for soaking up the sun, fishing, camping and plunging into the lake’s 12,000 acres of refreshing water. Located only 30 miles from Atlanta, Lake Allatoona is the perfect place to enjoy Georgia’s outdoors and stay cool while you’re doing it!
Enjoy Fun in the Sun at Water Parks
For thrill-seekers and families alike, Six Flags White Water in Marietta is the place to go for getting soaked on exciting rides like the Caribbean Plunge or swimming through sea-like waves in the Atlantic Ocean Wave Pool.
For a slightly less thrilling but equally fun activity, visit Six Flags’ other water park called Hurricane Harbor. This park offers the Lazy River, where you can hop on a raft and weave around the park at a mellow pace of 3 miles per hour.
With almost 100 combined acres of fun rides, tons of water and just a short drive from our new home communities like Edgemoore at Milford, Six Flags’ water parks are bound to cool you down.
Enjoy the Breeze at the Beach
Maybe a combination of sand between your toes, the calming sound of lapping waves and a cool ocean breeze is your ideal way of beating the heat. Don’t worry— Atlanta’s great location makes it easily accessible to be at the beach within a few hours’ drive!
Georgia’s coast alone offers a number of breathtaking places to visit and fun activities to do. Imagine strolling along the Tybee Beach Pier on Tybee Island near Savannah, or spending the day golfing before winding down on the beach at Sea Island Resort or Saint Simons Island. Or, explore the intriguing landscape of Driftwood Beach on Jekyll Island.
Also not too far from Atlanta is the stunning Gulf Coast, where beaches like Panama City Beach or 30A in Florida and Orange Beach in Alabama are great spots for sitting back, relaxing and, of course, cooling off.
No matter which Traton Home community you’re part of, there are plenty of places nearby to enjoy the summer without overheating. That’s just one of the many reasons why Traton Homes is one of metro Atlanta’s most innovative and trusted homebuilding companies!
So, don’t wait to find an amazing new Traton home, whether it’s at our upcoming new community Tapp Farm in Powder Springs or our 55+ age restricted community in Marietta Courtyards at Ebenezer, or at any of the available communities listed on our website.
