The metro-Atlanta area is going to be filled with the sounds of crackles, pops and low rumbling this Friday night as fireworks light up the night’s sky for America’s Independence Day. This Fourth of July, get ready to experience the energy of Historic Marietta Square for the nation’s favorite holiday!
Kick off the day’s festivities by watching the fantastic Freedom Parade, beginning at 10 a.m. The parade features 110 entries and is expected to entertain an estimated 30,000 spectators. The route for the procession will begin at Roswell Street Baptist Church and travel west on Roswell Street, then north onto East Park Square past Glover Park, down Cherokee Street, and will wrap up on North Marietta Parkway. Winners from the parade’s float contest will be announced at 2:15 p.m. at Glover Park.
After the parade, families can take part in the action at the festival in the Square’s park. Some fun activities will include carnival rides, a Kids Zone, more than 80 arts and crafts booths, and yummy festival food! People of all ages can enjoy live music from Scott Thompson, the Atlanta Concert Band and John King. Fireworks will sparkle in the sky around the Square at dusk, serving as the grand finale of a fantastic Fourth of July celebration!
