Alpharetta Brew Moon Fest – On September 29th, get the crew together and celebrate fall with beer, wine, food from Alpharetta restaurants and live music. All you need to bring is a chair!
Biking – Enjoy fall foliage from the vantagepoint of a bike! Plan a ride through one of the most scenic bike routes outside of Atlanta’s perimeter this season.
Cemetery Tours: Get in the fall spirit – literally! On October 20th, experience Restless in Resthaven for a walking tour of downtown Alpharetta and Resthaven Cemetery. Costumed characters will guide you through gravesites as you learn secrets from the past.
Entertainment: Scary stories, macabre movies, and terrifying theater – let your imagination run at a frightful pace as we approach Halloween. The Monster at The Earl and Rachel Smith Stand Theater is silent film about a mad scientist and a frightful kidnapping. Immerse yourself, all senses heightened, as the organist leads you through a musical and visual experience like no other.
Football – Gameday jerseys, parking lot tailgates, stadium chants and couch coaching – football season is here! Enjoy college, pro or your own football games this fall!
GA State Fair – There’s just something magical about meeting up with friends over funnel cake at the state fair! From September 28 – October 7 stop by the Georgia State Fair at the Atlanta Motor Speedway for rides, games, food and entertainment.
Hot Air Balloons – Owl O’Ween Hot Air Balloon Festival at Kennesaw State University is unique way to celebrate the season. It’s a 2-day family-friendly event featuring tethered balloon rides, a glow stage, trick-or-treating, Oktoberfest beer garden, live music, food trucks and fabulous vendors. Mark your calendars for Oct 19-20 for this epic event.
Jonquil Festival – On October 27-28, artisans from all over the southeast display over 175 hand-made arts and crafts, paintings, clothing, furniture, jewelry and more. Enjoy browsing booths, listening to live entertainment, a costume parade, a jonquil bulb sale, and festival-style food. This is a free event hosted at Smyrna’s Community Center, so bring the family!
Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art Chalktoberfest – A walk away from The Registry at Marietta and North Square communities, this event celebrates the best of autumn and art! Enjoy an afternoon sampling craft beers and wines, listening to live music and watching professional chalk artists beautify the streets in downtown Marietta! Mark your calendars on October 13-14 to attend this free event.
Oktoberfest – German or not, Octoberfest Atlanta is where you want to be on October 12-14th. Complete with German-inspired and craft beer, German food, games and competitions like keg roll racing, live music and local artists, this event at Historic Fourth Ward Park is not to be missed!
Pumpkin Patch – Whether you are carving them, decorating with them or ambitiously turning them into pie, no fall is complete without pumpkins! Head to your favorite patch and pick out your pumpkins today.
Run for a cause – Fall is the season of giving thanks and giving back. One way to make strides in your community is to lace up your shoes and hit the ground running. Runs, walks, and rides are happening all around you; grab your friends and sign up for one!
Scarecrows – During the Scarecrow Harvest on September 29th, Alpharetta’s downtown streets will be lined with over 100 scarecrows to celebrate its fall spirit. Voted by Travel+Leisure as the best fall festival in Georgia! AND through the month of October, just a stroll away from our 28 & Mill community in downtown Woodstock, vote for your favorite (ours of course!) scarecrow at the Scarecrow Invasion along Main Street! Scarecrows line the streets with whimsy, fun and a little spook making downtown Woodstock a destination for fall fun!
Taste of Atlanta – Calling all foodies! Taste of Atlanta, the city’s must-do, unforgettable three-day food festival returns on October 19-21! More than 90 neighborhood favorites will show off their most crave-able dishes, the hottest local chefs will strut their stuff on four live demo stages, and samplings of craft beers, wine and cocktails at the Historic Fourth Ward Park.
Wire & Wood Alpharetta Songwriters Festival – Music will flow through the streets as talented artists perform their own songs while interacting with the audience. Listeners will learn the stories behind each song and may recognize some of the tunes that are played by their favorite musicians. Selected as one of the Top 20 Events by the Southeast Tourism Society, be sure to check it out!
